Seated Treatment

It is recommended that you avoid having a heavy meal and stimulants such as caffeine or alcohol before your treatment.

You will be fully clothed except for your shoes. It is best to choose loose-fitting garments to wear for your appointment. I will ask you to remove any jewelry (rings, bracelets, pendants, etc.) prior to the session.

Receiving a Reiki treatment is simple and non-invasive. The only positions where contact will be made are indicated by (C) in the list below otherwise hands will be placed just above the body.

Prior to starting the session, whilst you relax, I will prepare and protect myself. Then, I will Slowly sweep down the your entire body at a distance of about 4 to 8 inches with one hand in front of you body and one behind, this is to prepare you for the session.

Hand Positions: 2 - 5 minutes on each area.

  1. (C) On your shoulders
  2. One hand on your forehead the other on the back of your heand.
  3. Over the heart
  4. Just below the chest
  5. Over the abdomen
  6. (C) One hand at the top of your right arm, the other holding your hand
  7. (C) One hand at the top of your left arm, the other holding your hand
  8. Knees
  9. (C) One hand under your right foot, the other on top
  10. (C) One hand under your left foot, the other on top

During the treatment, you may feel calm and peaceful, and you may even feel the energy moving through your body. People experience Reiki in different way so I won't set your expectations for the treatment. The energy you feel is Reiki; I am only a channel for the energy.

After  the session I will Slowly sweep up the your entire body at a distance of about 4 to 8 inches with one hand in front of you body and one behind. Then I will ask you to drink some water this will end the session.

Your body may need time to adjust to the amount of energy it has taken in and to detoxify any energetic blocks that were released during the treatment. It is helpful to drink some extra water for the next day or two to aid the detoxification process.

Phantom Hands

Because Reiki energies flow to where they are most needed there is a Reiki phenomenon called "phantom hands" that you may or may not experience. Phantom hands feel as if the Reiki practitioner's hands are touching one part of your body when they are actually elsewhere.

For example, you may be able to see that the healer's hands are actually placed on your stomach, but you could swear that hands are touching your legs. Or, you may feel as if several pairs of hands are on your body at the same time as if several people are in the room with you.
